The
course intends to introduce student-teachers to language development for
effective listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in young children. It
fosters development of basic language and communication skills - both verbal
and non-verbal through the use of play, games and other child centred
activities. It will also foster appreciation of literature and reading of first
and second language. The course further equips student-teachers with
appropriate teaching strategies for language acquisition and development of
pre-reading and pre-writing skills.
