Defining Power
Boy 1 is powerful if he has done work within a sort time as compared to boy 2 who has completed his duty (work) within a longer period of time. All objects can be powerful or less e.g:
-100 W electric bulb is more powerful than a 60 W bulb.
- 3000 W electric kettle is more powerful than 2000 W kettle.
-Exercise: Suppose Boy 1 does a 360 J work in 1 minute, while Boy 2 does 360 J of work in 30 seconds. who is more powerful?
- P1 = W/t = 360/1 x 60 sec = 6W
- P2 = W/t =360/30 sec = 12 W.
Therefore Boy 2 is more powerful that Boy 1.
