Volume of 3 dimensional objects

Various volumes are found through calculations or measuring.

Various formulas are used to calculate volumes of regular solids such as:

V = l x b x h applies to cuboidal  objects a

 V = π r2 h     applies to cylindrical objects etc. 

While volume can be measured using different instruments including a measuring cylinder. 

Some everyday examples such as a full tin of shield as opposed to an empty one shows that gases occupy volume.
