This course provides students with opportunities to develop their understanding and critical awareness of the nature and significance of religion and the influence of beliefs systems and religious traditions on individuals and within society. RELIGION-understand Religion as an organized collection of beliefs, cultural systems and world views that relate humanity to an order of existence.
THE ATTRIBUTES OF GOD- discus the nature of God is in His manifested character. So as to give them a better appreciation of who God is. RELIGIOUS STUDY – understand Religious studies as an academic field of multi-disciplinary, It describes, compares, interprets, and explains religion, emphasizing systematic, historically based, and cross-cultural perspectives. WORLD RELIGIONS-understand World religions/Comparative religion as the branch of the study of religions concerned with the systematic comparison of the doctrines and practices of the world's religions. its diverse nature and variations between different religions, the category of religion contains so many different types of being, existing, and believing. THE WORLD’S RELIGIONS-discus twelve classical world religions—which are most often included in history of world religion surveys and studied in world religions classes: Baha'i, Buddhism, Christianity, Confucianism, Hinduism, Islam, Jainism, Judaism, Shinto, Sikhism, Taoism, and Zoroastrianism.
HISTORICAL BACKGROUND OF THE FOUNDER – the knowledge of the origin of the religion and its founder, date and place are valuable to history of the religion. RELIGIOUS PRACTICES- religion as social organization have a societal basis, either as a living tradition which is carried by lay participants, or with an organized clergy, and a definition of what constitutes adherence or membership.
