Educational Administration and Management

The course covers the following topics: Meaning of administration and management; primary and secondary school management in Lesotho. It also covers the management tasks such as planning, organizing, decision-making and delegation. It looks into the theories of management and application to real life situations; explores issues of conflict, leadership styles (democracy, autocracy, laissez-faire, nomothetic, transactional and idiographic) and their application in the organizational setting. It also dowels on academic arguments surrounding issues of power and authority, educational law as well as culture and its contribution to school improvement.
