ETHICS AND FOUNDATIONS OF EDUCATION

This is a basic course that lays the grounding for founding a teacher. It intends to present a broad coverage of foundations of Education: history of education, goals of education, and concepts of education, and concepts of education and theories of learning together with learning outcomes. The main purpose is to expose student teachers to psychological and sociological factors that influence education.

Aspects of professionalism in education will also be explored. The course also exposes students to the concept of Child-Friendly Schools as a keystone underpinning all activities and relations with children/learners.
