The aim of this course is to foster a comprehensive understanding of various office applications at
intermediate and advanced computer skills levels, impart practical office applications skills and point out
the important role these applications play in primary education system today. The course is also intended to
help learners become competent, responsible and critical users of Information and Communication
Technology (ICT) by making efficient, effective and creative use of basic software and hardware in their everyday
classroom activities. Internet services and web tools for education are explored in this course so as to
develop learner’s essential social skills for co-operative and collaborative learning by using Information and
Technologies such as Social Media and Learning Management Systems (LMS). Learners will individually
or in groups, work on projects for classroom teaching and learning.

This course deals with mathematical concepts behind computer functioning!

 

The course is designed for all students registered in the Department of Pure Sciences. It is intended to equip student teachers with content and methods that will enable them to handle the teaching of mathematics at primary level with proficiency. The topics covered under content include number and set theory. The methodology part covers the following topics: the history of mathematics, the nature of mathematics and why it is taught in schools and the learning theories.

This course is intended to introduce first year primary student teachers at LCE  to basic computer skills concepts.These concepts include, hardware,software,internet and the web,word processing,presentation and spreadsheet programs.

The aim of this course is to introduce basic computer concepts and use to students. It covers computer hardware and software fundamentals (including the use of windows), key productivity applications such as word processing, spreadsheets and presentations, with Microsoft Office recent package. Internet, web searching strategies, online communities and e-mailing systems are some of the topics that will be dealt with in this course. The students will develop basic computer skills to aid them with college and workforce readiness.


This course introduces computer concepts to students at a basic level. Topics include computer terminology, history, uses and types of computers, word processing and introduction to the internet.
