This course deals with reproduction in animals and plants; reproductive cells, types of cell division and their respective roles in reproduction, reproductive systems, types of reproduction, development of new organisms. In inheritance in organisms the course covers, chromosomes, allele and genetic traits including genetic material, DNA and RNA. The course also looks into the types of cell division (mitosis and meiosis) and inheritance covering sex determination and sex linked traits, genetic crossing, mutation, chromosomes and recombination, monohybrid and Dihybrid inheritance. 

Ecology is also treated with emphasis on natural selection as the basis on which evolution operates, and artificial selection and its application in agriculture.
