The course covers the
following topics: Meaning of administration and management; primary and
secondary school management in Lesotho; Management tasks such as coordination,
organizing, decision making, planning and delegation. It looks into the
theories management and application to real life situation; explores issues of
conflict, leadership styles (democracy, autocracy, laissez-faire, nomothetic,
transactional and idiographic) and their application in the organizational
setting. It also touches on academic arguments surrounding issues of power and
authority, classroom management, educational law as well as organizational
culture and its contribution to school improvement.
