The course is designed for all students registered in the department of Pure Sciences. It is intended to equip student-teachers with content and methods that will enable them to handle teaching of primary Mathematics with proficiency. The topics covered under content include Statistics, Probability and Commercial Arithmetic.
It is also intended to give student teachers an opportunity to reflect on their teaching practice experiences and what can be learnt from these experiences. Approaches to teaching of problematic topics and how errors and misconceptions can be handled will also form part of this course.
