This course is intended for all DEP 3 students. It has four components – Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Methodology. The Biology component of this course looks into living organisms and their environment: conservation and protection of endangered species: living systems such as respiration and breathing, support and locomotion as well as transport in plants. The Chemistry section covers water treatment for domestic use, hard and soft water, temporary hardness, methods used to soften hard water, effect of heat on matter, physical and chemical reactions, energy changes: exothermic and endothermic reactions, and environmental issues: air pollution, global warming, ozone depletion and acid rain. In Physics, waves, thermal energy and light will be covered. The Methodology component will help learners to design assessment tasks, including the use of assessment within new primary integrated curriculum
