The course deals with the importance of vegetables. The course further focuses on any two of the following vegetables type: leaf, root, legumes, fruit, and herbs. The emphasis will be on: classification, botany, origin, distribution, site selection, climatic and soil requirements. The course also covers production plans , cultivars, propagation, planting dates, spacing, irrigation, fertilizer application, crop rotation, weeding, diseases and pests control, harvesting, and marketing.
