This course highlights critical common problems in both developed and developing countries.  A comparative analysis of such countries will be made.  Such problems include gender discrimination, pollution, poor planning, human rights violation and political instability.  Emerging issues such as HIV/AIDS,  Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), democracy and good governance will be dealt with.  Furthermore, in order to discuss these problems, the role of national, regional and international organisations in dealing with these problems will be investigated.  Cases will be drawn mainly from Lesotho and other Southern African countries.
