ThIS course is intended to expose you, pre-service student teachers to the basics of chemistry through the following
concepts; changes of states, mixtures (types, separation methods and application e.g. oil refinery and
fractional distillation of air), Periodic table (groups, periods and trends), Metals and non-metals (physical
and chemical properties, reactivity series, uses), Atomic Structure (Bohr and modern theory).
