This course deals with trade and tourism as vital engine of development. The dynamic benefits tourism and international trade, as well as multilateral trade institutions such as World Trade Organisation (WTO) will be dealt with. Also, the controversies surrounding the role of Transnational Corporation will be looked into. This course highlights the contribution of trade to rural and agricultural development in particular. Ways in which trade and tourism activities can respond to socioeconomic and political needs of the nation will be checked
