The course is designed for all students in the primary program of the Department of Pure Sciences.  It is intended to equip student teachers with content and methods that will enable them to handle the teaching of primary school mathematics with proficiency.  The topics covered under content include Geometry, Measurement and Mensuration. The methodology part covers the following topics: Teaching Methods/Strategies, Assessment, (including AFL strategies such as peer/self-assessments), developing success criteria, construction of teaching and learning materials, lesson planning and Peer/Micro-teaching.
